First, he hired a spray foam company to insulate the odd wall structure. The wall structure is not odd for a barn, but it is odd when it comes to finding insulation material. Nathan was curious to insulate the rest of his barn with wall spray cellulose. So, we guided him through a purchase. We recommended:
CM2400 with 20 inch airlock and 4 blowers. This is a one-off project for him. He needed a machine with the capabilities of reaching the 400 foot lengths he needed to spray loose fill in the attic. Also, this machine is perfect for wall spray cellulose because it has enough air power to make sure his cellulose sticks.
CoolVac16. When recycling material back to the CM2400, the 16 horsepower vacuum has enough power to recycle the moist material back to the machine.
Wall Spray Components. We recommended the M-03 pump. It has max PSI of 600. We provided two different sizes of tips due to the various cellulose conditions. Some cellulose is based on cardboard and needs a lower PSI and larger tip to saturate the material. Other cellulose has more paper content and needs to be sprayed in at higher pressures. Having both sizes gave him the ability to adapt.
Dense Packing Hose Kit. This was purchased after our training. Some of the cavities he needs to fill are large. They are difficult to fill with wall spray. So, in these cases, he wants to pack the cellulose in, dry. We taught him how to set his machine to do so.
We believe insulation companies need to know a few different methods. This keeps the project moving along. When one method is time-consuming or just too difficult to accomplish, then switching up to another method is the best solution. There is no difference in the insulation value. It is all about delivering a quality job.
Thank you, Nathan for your purchase! Your barn will be well-insulated and you have quality equipment to get the job done!
